April-December, six Good Practice Study Visits 2007 to the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Italy, UK, France, organised by Governance International
During the two-days study visits participants will be pay a visit to different organisations and partnerships. Some of the themes that will be discussed are: social inclusion, integration and safety; citizen participation; e-government; sustainable development; quality and performance management; and on participative budgeting. 12-19 November 2007, Making Governance Gender Responsive (MGGR) in Manila, Philippines
Making Governance Gender Responsive (MGGR) is a generic course that can be adapted and modified to suit the needs of the different countries in Asia-Pacific. The initial training module was developed by the Center for Asia-Pacific Women in Politics (CAPWIP), with funding support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through its Asia-Pacific Gender Equality Network (UNDP-APGEN) and the Regional Governance Programme for Asia and the Pacific (UNDP-PARAGON). 28-29 November 2007, Europe Conference Equal Opportunities for All: Citizenship and Human Capital in a Diverse Europe in The Hague, the Netherlands
This conference is organised by the Netherlands Association of Municipalities and the Council of European Municipalities and Regions. Themes of the conference are among others: citizenship and social cohesion, housing, labour market and migrant enterprise, neighbourhoods, education, child care, youth policies and political and social participation. These themes will be discussed in parallel sessions. Instituut voor Publiek en Politiek (Dutch Centre for Political participation) will coordinate a parallel session on political participation of migrants and on policies of the municipality of Amsterdam to prevent political extremism.

15-18 December 2007, YANG Debate in Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Fundación Galicia Europa along with Pontus Iuventae, the Dirección Xeral de Xuventude e Solidariedade and the Consello da Xuventude de Galicia have between its objectives approaching the European actuality to the young people of the whole Union. Therefore, they are organizing together the YANG project within the framework of the European program "Europe for Citizens", in order to obtain the contribution of young Europeans on the nature and form that the European Union should adopt, in a moment in which Europe must redefine itself to confront the challenges of a more and more interconnected world. The accomplishment of this project, that will be developed through a simulation of an European Parliament, precise of young motivated people interested in the European subjects and policies.
