8 - 10 October 2009 International Conference 'EU and the Media' in The Hague and Leiden, The Netherlands
the Montesquieu Institute - in cooperation with the Master European Union Studies of Leiden University and the Campus The Hague - organises an international conference about the European Union and the media. In Brussels it is often claimed that the EU is ignored by the press, or misinterpreted for national political ends. The elections for the European Parliament were, of course, an excellent opportunity for the European Union to try and achieve a good coverage in the media. With this in mind, the conference will address relevant aspects of the European Union and its relation with its citizens through the use of the media.
