About Us

Our goals
The goals of POLITEIA, as discussed during the seminar in December 2005, are as follows:
- Creation of a structure that will set civic participation and education higher on the European and national agenda.
- Strengthening the capacities of the partner organisations by exchanging methods and practices.
- Being more present and visible in the European NGO-scene by focusing on the promotion of European citizenship through participation.
- Creating a pool of potential partners for European projects as well as being able to profit from European funds.
Members
Currently, a number of enthusiastic European partner organisations are active within POLITEIA. The organisations listed below participated in the conferences in December 2005, December 2006 or have joined the network by being active in the project 'European Exchange of Good Practices in the Field of Participation and Citizenship of Underrepresented Groups'.

POLITEIA is active in the field of active (European) citizenship and democracy through participation in the following ways:
The digital Politeia Newsletter
The newsletter brings relevant developments in the Politeia network, European politics, in the field of civic and political education, back ground information, the signalling of recent books, magazines and other (electronic) publications, conferences, profiles of European non-governmental organisations, interesting websites, etcetera. The newsletter is published four times a year. You can subscribe by clicking on the subscribe button on the right top of this page.
The Website
This website is the communication channel of POLITEIA. It enables the partners and other interested organisations to share their knowledge and experience to other network participants.
Projects
In 2006 four partners have been active in a project to exchange best practices in the field of participation and citizenship of underrepresented groups. Read more about this project in the section Politeia projects under About us.
