The first multilingual European current affairs magazine, designed for readers across borders.
This year, TASC teamed up with the National Women’s Council of Ireland to produce a major new work on the status of women and the feminist movement in Ireland today.
Acknowledging women’s central role in feeding the ‘Celtic Tiger’ over the last decade, ‘Where are we Now? New feminist perspectives on women in contemporary Ireland’ highlights the gender inequalities that continue to permeate Irish society. Questions are asked of policy and decision-making systems, how women are systematically underrepresented in national and local politics, and the consequences of this for how priorities are determined and resources allocated.
The book’s launch has been timed to coincide with the NWCI’s annual International Women’s Day conference, which creates a forum for activists in Ireland to develop new ways to campaign for women’s equality and social justice in Ireland.
